1230017 - Shaping Institutional Futures: Strategy and Global Positioning
Course Description
Effective institutional strategy requires both vision and disciplined alignment. This course examines how universities design, communicate, and execute strategies that balance mission, resources, and public accountability while navigating global competition and complex governance. Leaders will explore how institutional priorities are shaped by external forces—political, social, economic, and international—and by internal dynamics such as Senate processes, labour relations, and organizational culture. Emphasis is placed on how strategic intent becomes sustained institutional action: how direction is set, alignment maintained, and progress demonstrated. Participants will engage with models of strategic design and execution that connect academic purpose, financial sustainability, and institutional reputation across decentralized systems, ensuring equity and reconciliation remain embedded throughout.
