Course Description

Managing and leading in a global, diverse world requires specialized knowledge and skills. In this course students develop a theoretical and applied understanding of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) in the workplace from a leadership and followership perspective. Leveraging scholarly and community knowledge, students examine and discuss contemporary events in organizations and leadership through personal reflection, facilitated discussions and a final group presentation. This course explores how management and leadership uniquely relates to and impacts different populations (e.g., disability, gender, race, sexuality, age, etc.) and fosters opportunities for students to learn how to engage with human diversity in their future roles.
